Weekend Fun

Rossleigh got to have ALL kinds of fun this weekend.  She had a sleepover at Ciocia's house (AKA Agnieszka, one of her Godmothers).  They played, bonded, went to the park, and shopped all while Lance and I got a night off from parenting.  LOL She was so sweet and sent me some pictures she took while they were having fun.

Lance and I had a relaxing night off.  When we came home from work, we decided to take a NAP!!  When we were awoken by the phone ringing at about 8:30 pm, we got ourselves together and headed out for a LATE dinner at Mellow Mushroom. Afterwards, we headed home, caught up on some of the shows we watch together, and pretty much just lounged around until 3am.  LOL  I tossed and turned all night due to some back pain (I've been having some trouble with my ankle lately, so I've been compensating by walking a little differently.  As a result, I'm also now having pain in my hips, back, and shoulders.  Mobility issues really suck sometimes...Oh well.  At least I'm walking!).          Lance, on the other hand slept like a DREAM.  I really am happy for him that he was able to get a good chunk of sleep, but he slept a little TOO good.  Let me tell ya, that boy can SNORE!!!  It's normally not an issue, but when you're already struggling to go to sleep, the um, "noise" coming from your bed neighbor makes it a little difficult.  You ladies know what I'm talking about.  I was laying in bed awake for a couple of hours and doing things like clearing my throat, rib poking, light kicks or touches all in attempt to stop the snoring for a bit so I could fall asleep. I finally decided to give him a break and just get up.  LOL  We did more lounging the next day and then met up with Agnieszka and Rossleigh at Carter's in Southlake.  Baby girl needed some new shoes (that's another post for another day)!

On Sunday, we had a birthday party to go to for my little man, Jakey.  I can't believe he's already 3!

Jakey wouldn't let me take his picture.  Much like his mother, he kept putting stuff in front of his face.  LOL

<-----Birthday boy was ready for some cake.  Nana HATED doing this cake but I think she did a FANTASTIC job on it.

Rossleigh loved the balloons and all of the action that came along with them.  A little blurry but she was on the move!

Sickness, Shopping, & Birthday

Rossleigh is pretty darn close to being back to 100%, but Megan is still in the hospital.  My hope is that both of these sweet girls are back to feeling like their spunky selves by Christmas.  :)

I was horrible this year about doing ANYTHING in advance for Christmas.  I should have done things before I had Rossleigh and underestimated how busy/tired I would be right after she came home.  WHEW!  I will be doing some running around for gifts both today and on Christmas Eve.  Horrible!  I will be much nicer to myself next year.  :)

Pamps was Lance's grandfather, Ross, and was one of Rossleigh's namesakes.  When he was living, his family celebrated his birthday with a shrimp cookout.  Ross taught Lance the secrets of shrimp boiling and Lance has been the chef since his Pamps passed away 10 years ago.  Every year, on December 23rd, the family comes over to our house for the shrimp cookout, but for various reasons, they/we decided not to do a shrimp cookout this year.  In remembrance of Pamps, happy birthday!!  :)

More sickness

Miss Megan is back in the hospital.   For those of you that don't know or remember, Megan is my 14-year-old niece who had a kidney transplant this summer.   We've been so grateful for her amazing recovery (and her donor daddy's), but with the anti-rejection meds she's on, she catches just about every virus that she comes across.

Apparently, Megan had been at the mall yesterday with some friends and began throwing up, plus she had a high fever.   My sister took her to the ER in the wee hours of the morning today (as they've been instructed to do for this first year post transplant).  She JUST got moved to a room late this evening.   Every time Megan was sleeping, her blood pressure would drop significantly, so the staff at the hospital did not want to move her to a room until her blood pressure stabilized.

Her blood pressure seemed to be doing better, she was keeping food down okay, plus her temp had dropped down, but then suddenly spiked.   Poor baby!   :(

I'll keep you updated on Miss Megan.   She was sick the weekend before Thanksgiving and was hospitalized, but pulled through in time to spend the holiday with our family.   Please pray that the same will happen before Christmas.

Getting ready for Christmas

Since I'm still not back to work yet, I didn't have to take part in the dreaded retail/Black Friday festivities (darn)!!  Instead we got to work on decorating our house for Christmas.  Nana and Megan came over to help fluff our...ahem, FIVE Christmas trees (but this year we're only putting up 3) and start decorating a bit.  While Nana fluffed the trees, Lance got everything out of the attic and put the outdoor decorations out, and Megan and I put away the Fall decorations, cleaned up a bit and decorated the big tree.

In the midst of decorating, Rossleigh needed a wardrobe change (and BATH) after an incident with a diaper (yes, again)...While I was getting stuff ready for her bath, Megan held her.  I absolutely LOVE these pictures!!
Rossleigh LOVES her cousin, Megan!!  Nana refers to them as the Alpha and Omega.  With Nana's grandchildren, the order goes:  Megan, Conner, Jake, and Rossleigh, so she started and ended with girls!  At one point in the evening, Megan was holding Rossleigh.  After a while, Nana couldn't stand it and wanted to hold her.  After she took her from Megan, RCD started fussing.  Nana gave her back to Megan and the fussing stopped!!  We found out that Megan is the BABY WHISPERER!!!  ;)

After the bath, we ate Thanksgiving leftovers and then decorated some more!!  We got a LOT done!!  Lance and I still have a ways to go to be completely ready for Christmas, but we got a very nice head start thanks to Nana and Megan.  :)
