A few weeks ago when we had some REALLY cold winter days, I put Rossleigh's hat and mittens on to try to better protect her on her way out the door. She was NOT happy about it - AT ALL...not even one tiny bit. The hat, she was really OKAY with, but the mittens?? Fuh-get about it. She found out really quickly that she couldn't hold her bottle or cup with them on. I'd hand it to her and before she could get it up to her mouth, it would slide right down to her lap. hahaha It really was tragic...can't you tell?? :)
The daily (weekly, monthly, QUARTERLY???) happenings of the Dewey clan!! Stay connected with us as we humorously attempt this whole parenting thing, care for our sweet little one, and try to remain sane in the process. :)

RCD vs. Beanie
This was from a couple of weeks or so ago...These two crack me up! Bean is so good with her and pretty much lets her get away with murder. LOL Check out the video below of her playing tugging of war with him. I love her "just lay on him" technique. Ha ha ha
She cracks me up how she grunts!

Weekend Fun
Rossleigh got to have ALL kinds of fun this weekend. She had a sleepover at Ciocia's house (AKA Agnieszka, one of her Godmothers). They played, bonded, went to the park, and shopped all while Lance and I got a night off from parenting. LOL She was so sweet and sent me some pictures she took while they were having fun.

Lance and I had a relaxing night off. When we came home from work, we decided to take a NAP!! When we were awoken by the phone ringing at about 8:30 pm, we got ourselves together and headed out for a LATE dinner at Mellow Mushroom. Afterwards, we headed home, caught up on some of the shows we watch together, and pretty much just lounged around until 3am. LOL I tossed and turned all night due to some back pain (I've been having some trouble with my ankle lately, so I've been compensating by walking a little differently. As a result, I'm also now having pain in my hips, back, and shoulders. Mobility issues really suck sometimes...Oh well. At least I'm walking!). Lance, on the other hand slept like a DREAM. I really am happy for him that he was able to get a good chunk of sleep, but he slept a little TOO good. Let me tell ya, that boy can SNORE!!! It's normally not an issue, but when you're already struggling to go to sleep, the um, "noise" coming from your bed neighbor makes it a little difficult. You ladies know what I'm talking about. I was laying in bed awake for a couple of hours and doing things like clearing my throat, rib poking, light kicks or touches all in attempt to stop the snoring for a bit so I could fall asleep. I finally decided to give him a break and just get up. LOL We did more lounging the next day and then met up with Agnieszka and Rossleigh at Carter's in Southlake. Baby girl needed some new shoes (that's another post for another day)!

Jakey wouldn't let me take his picture. Much like his mother, he kept putting stuff in front of his face. LOL<-----Birthday boy was ready for some cake. Nana HATED doing this cake but I think she did a FANTASTIC job on it.

Rossleigh loved the balloons and all of the action that came along with them. A little blurry but she was on the move!

More Pumpkin Patch
She was fascinated by the goards. She stayed busy "organizing" and rearranging them. LOL |
NO IDEA why she decided to lick this pumpkin stem, but I'm SO happy Agnieszka caught it on film. Sometimes, I guess you just get an urge to lick a pumpkin... |
This pic is one of my faves. I love the way the sun shines on her. Gorgeous |

Little Punkin'
As promised, I'm starting the "catch-up" process with pictures and videos. Here are a few from the Pumpkin Patch in October 2013. Agnieszka found this church in Grapevine that set up a pumpkin patch with adorable backdrops. The volunteers running the pumpkin patch were so sweet and let us move around whatever pumpkins and props we wanted. Agnieszka really took some BEAUTIFUL shots and I'm so happy with the way they turned out.
For as happy as my little one is, for some reason, she's not so smiley during photo shoots. Miss Serious all the way. Every now and then, she would smile, but I think they all turned out cute, nonetheless. LOL
You can see into her soul through these beautiful eyes. Do yourself a favor and click on this to ZOOM IN. |
So proud. "Look at my pumpkin" |

Weekend Happenings
Long time, no blog!! The Deweys are back and will try to make a more conscious effort to blog more regularly. It's been a long time and there is LOTS to catch up on. While I will mostly post current things that are going on, I will certainly post some "catch-up" stuff here and there too (i.e. pics and videos). Rossleigh had a busy and exciting weekend.
One fairly new thing in our lives is that Rossleigh now attends an in-home daycare. The kiddos are so cute and I love that she gets to be around other kiddos on a regular basis. This Friday was her first Valentine exchange and it was so much fun. I love corny stuff and kids Valentines are the PERFECT place for cornball sayings, so this was the Valentine Rossleigh gave. LOL
After she and I got home from day care, we went for a walk run. It was such a GORGEOUS day! Rossleigh is a VERY determined and active little girl and knows exactly where she wants to go and when. Boy, does she keep me on my toes. lol She was running all over the place! We had a lot of fun though. The first pic is of her in action - RUNNING. The second was a 10-second break that she took that I was actually able to capture.
On Saturday, Rossleigh went over to Gigi and Pops' house to spend the day with "the village" (Gigi, Meems, Uncle Randy, and Aunt Carol) while Lance went with his dad to a car show. She always has so much fun with her Gigi. This is a picture of her sitting on a chair that once belonged to her daddy. Such a big girl!
On Sunday, Lance and Rossleigh met some friends for breakfast that we hadn't seen in a while (I was working). After I came home from work, we drove over to Irving for my sister's birthday party. She got to spend time with her Nana, Aunt Marcy, Uncle David, and her three cousins. After the festivities, Rossleigh played in the backyard with Jakey and Megan. She kicked a ball for the first time and actually managed to hit a ball with a bat on the T-ball thing.
Haha. I had to include this one. It makes me laugh. LOL |
Bedtime snuggles with Mama. I love this sweet girl so much. |
That was our weekend! Next weekend, she'll be spending some time with her Ciocia.
Pretty soon, I'll post birthday pics, Halloween, and Christmas. LOTS to show....and oh, God, the videos. I have LOTS of material stored up for you people still out there, reading this. LOL
