Nnnnnnneh!

Rossleigh started saying "no" a couple of weeks ago and has now perfected it's use.  LOL  She, like most toddlers, says it quite often and even when she means to say "yes".  The funny thing about it is the WAY she says "no".  If you've ever watched Duck Dynasty, you know that Phil, Si and Jase all say "no" like "nnnnneh".  From the very first time she started saying "no", that's EXACTLY how she says it.  It cracks me up.

P.S. - Her Daddy put her hair into pigtails.  I thought he did a really good job (especially for his first time and on a VERY wiggly toddler).

RCD vs. Beanie

This was from a couple of weeks or so ago...These two crack me up!  Bean is so good with her and pretty much lets her get away with murder.  LOL  Check out the video below of her playing tugging of war with him.  I love her "just lay on him" technique.  Ha ha ha

She cracks me up how she grunts!

A Mover and a Shaker!

Rossleigh is ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!  This child went from sitting one week to crawling the next!!  There was no gradual scooting period or anything.  On top of it, while she knew HOW to, she never even rolled over much either.  Big time culture shock for all of us!  LOL

See the video below for her in action.  She starts out playing with some fabric scraps then decides she wants something on the OTHER side of Bean.  No matter!  She just crawls over him!!  LOL

P.S. - notice how stoic Bean is in the beginning of the video.  Statue!!  :)

Music Lover

This child LOVES music!!  Any time she hears music, she instantly becomes happy and responsive - eyes widen, a smile appears, legs begin to kick, and hands start flailing.  The majority of the time, she'll throw in a coo or two.  :)

Baby Laughter & Body Tricks

Rossleigh has this rocker chair that we call "the mouse chair".  Why?  Because it is a baby chair with a picture of a mouse princess on it.  Anyway, the mouse chair pretty much stays in my office so that she can hang out with me while I am working on stuff from time to time.  She doesn't sit in it often, so she usually is not a huge fan and when she does sit in it, it doesn't last long.  Today, however, she was rocking out in the mouse chair!  THEN, when I pulled the little flower on the toy bar for the music to play, her face lit up in a smile and she would coo!!  She did it every time!!  Watch the video to see what I mean.  :)

I think I mentioned yesterday or the day before that Rossleigh breastfed for the first time and that my friend, Nicole came over.  So while she was here, she was trying to teach me about the art of hand expression.  I just couldn't master it (it truly is an art, and one that can only be appreciated if you need to know how to do it).  So I have been trying unsuccessfully ever since, but failing miserably.  What's worse is that I haven't been able to get Rossleigh to breastfeed anymore since that day - until today.  I watched YouTube videos per Nicole's suggestion and FINALLY mastered it - on one breast anyway! When you can do this, you can literally spray milk from your breast across the room.  It truly is a sight to be seen...or not.

FUNNY STORY - So I was so excited, I ran downstairs to show Lance my new trick!!  I went to express the milk...and accidentally sprayed him in the eye!!  Needless to say, he was not amused.  Nope, not one teeny tiny bit.  I apologized and tried to comfort him by letting him know that he should really be thanking me.  After all, breast milk does have healing qualities.  What if he had an oncoming eye infection he was unaware of?  I probably just healed it!!  He smiled, but still wasn't too impressed with my new trick.  I'm pumped though (no pun intended).  :)

Random Video

There is a fine line with Rossleigh (and maybe for all infants, but I don't know) between being tired and ready for sleep AND being overtired.  It can happen in the blink of an eye.  Most of the time, being overtired makes her overfussy and overcranky, but every now and then, it causes her to get a second wind!

A couple of days ago, I was desperately trying to lay her down for an afternoon nap, because I knew that if she didn't go to sleep soon, we'd have a REALLY hard time getting her down later that evening.  Well, the second wind hit, so we tested out the swing.  Did my attempts work?  Watch the video and see what you think...

Rough day for Rossleigh!!

Well, really it's been the last 36 hours I guess that have been a little rough for my little one.  First, she had to go to the pulmonologist yesterday to get her Synagis shot (she'll have to do that once a month until April), so shot = no fun.  Then there was the nail clipping fiasco earlier today.  Still feeling bad about that, by the way...

Not too long after that, she was sitting upright in my lap and facing me, but kind of doing that head-bobbing thing that newborns do.  She does this often and in an attempt to get some good balance, she sometimes loses control and flings her head in one direction with a surprising amount of force!!  This time we butted heads...HARD.  Poor baby just cried and cried!!  :(  I know that my nose hurt afterward, so I can only imagine how she felt!

At least her daddy tried to distract her with the never-fail Christmas tree (this time it was one of the downstairs trees).  I personally think this is a pretty cute picture of both of them.  ;)

Oh, and to top it all off, on Monday, we go to the pediatrician to get her two month vaccinations.  So needless to say, after Monday, we're hoping for a pain-free week!!  LOL

I'll leave you with a video I took yesterday, I think.  She's just so funny!!  Rossleigh can be fussy, mad, hungry, upset...it really doesn't matter the emotion, but when you strip her down, she is insta-smile!!  She just loves the sensation of having no clothing!!  Uh-oh!  We may have an exhibitionist on our hands!  LOL

Have a good weekend!!

Couch creepin'

I thought I'd share a funny video with you.  Rossleigh was just fussy fussy last night.  We're trying to establish a sleep schedule that will work a little better when we're both back at work full time, so we're slowly and gradually making some tweaks.  As a result, we have to keep her awake for periods of time and she just isn't happy about it at all.  When Lance is responsible for keeping her awake, he gets pretty creative!!  Sometimes, I don't know if the things he does is to entertain her or us more, but this time it was most definitely US!!  LOL

Are we cruel?  Let us know!!  By the way, I think I got the settings changed so comments can be made without having to sign into Google!!  Sorry about that!!  :)

Dancing & Giggles

Just thought I'd share a couple of short videos with you!  We hope you enjoy watching them!!  :)

The first one is Rossleigh dancing with her Daddy.  Sometimes when you're waiting for formula to warm up and you have a fussy, impatient baby, you'll do just about anything to help the time pass more quickly (and quietly) for everyone.  LOL  Lance is particularly good at distracting her - sometimes by singing, dancing, making silly faces, and/or funny noises.  I'm not so sure how much SHE likes the dancing right now, but Lance loves it!  ;)   He's such a wonderful daddy!!

I mentioned in a recent post that Rossleigh giggled for the first time and promised that I would try to capture it and post it here.  I caught a tiny giggle so I thought I'd share it here.  You might want to turn your sound up so you can hear her soft, sweet giggle.  When she smiles and laughs, she just lights up my world.  I hope she brings a little joy to your day as well!  :)
